Finding & Booking
What is Go Camp Georgia?
Go Camp Georgia is the consumer website of the Georgia Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds, known as GARVC. It helps travelers discover member campgrounds, explore Georgia's camping districts, and connect directly with properties to plan a stay.
Does the directory include every campground in Georgia?
The directory focuses on GARVC member campgrounds. It is a place to explore participating properties across the state, rather than a complete list of every campground or public camping area in Georgia.
Can I make a reservation through Go Camp Georgia?
Use a campground's profile to find its booking link, website, or contact information. Reservations are handled by the campground or its booking provider. The campground confirms availability, pricing, policies, and your reservation details.
Find a CampgroundHow do I choose the right campground?
Start with your destination, dates, group size, and preferred accommodation. Then compare the features that matter to you, such as site size, bathroom access, pet policies, and on-site activities. Contact the property about any must-have feature that is not clearly described.
What should I ask about the price?
Ask for the total cost of your stay and what is included. Depending on the property, additional charges may apply for guests, pets, extra vehicles, cleaning, utilities, or particular activities. Review payment and deposit requirements before you reserve.
Are there minimum stays or age requirements?
Some campgrounds or accommodations have minimum-night requirements, especially for selected dates. The person making the reservation may also need to meet a minimum age requirement. Check the property's rules before booking.
How do I change or cancel a reservation?
Contact the campground or booking provider shown on your confirmation. Changes, cancellations, refunds, and weather-related policies are handled under the terms of your reservation. Go Camp Georgia does not manage those transactions.
RV Camping
How do I know whether an RV site will fit my rig?
Tell the campground your RV's length and type, along with slide-outs, tow vehicles, trailers, and parking needs. Ask about site dimensions, access, and setup before reserving.
What does full hookup mean?
Full hookup usually means a site with electric, water, and sewer connections. Electric service, such as 30 or 50 amp, and the exact hookup layout can vary, so confirm what a specific site offers before you reserve.
What is the difference between a pull-through and a back-in site?
A pull-through site lets you drive in and out without reversing, which can make setup easier for larger rigs. A back-in site requires backing into the space. Ask the campground about site length and access for your rig.
Can I stay in a rental RV if I do not own one?
Some campgrounds welcome rental RVs, and some offer their own rental units. Policies differ, so contact the property to confirm its rental-RV rules and what is available for your dates.
Cabins & Glamping
Do all cabins have bathrooms and kitchens?
No. Some cabins use shared campground facilities, while others have private bathrooms or kitchens. Check the description and inventory for the exact accommodation you plan to reserve.
Are linens and towels included with a cabin?
It depends on the property and the cabin. Some include bedding or towels, while others ask you to bring your own or offer them for an added fee. Check the cabin description or ask the campground before you arrive.
What is glamping?
Glamping is camping with extra comfort. Depending on the property, it may mean a furnished tent, yurt, or similar accommodation with real beds and added amenities. Details vary, so review each listing.
Can I camp without owning an RV or a tent?
Yes. Many campgrounds offer cabins, glamping accommodations, or rental options so you can stay without your own gear. Look for these accommodation types on a campground's profile and confirm what is provided.
Tent Camping
What should I check before reserving a tent site?
Ask about site size, ground surface, shade, and distance to restrooms. Confirm how many people, tents, and vehicles a site allows, and whether the campground has rules on tent size.
Do tent sites have electricity and water?
Some do and some do not. Tent sites may offer electric or water access, or they may be more primitive with shared facilities nearby. Check the site description and confirm with the campground.
Can I put a tent on an RV site?
It depends on the campground. Some allow it, some limit tents to designated tent sites, and some charge extra. Ask before you book.
Amenities & Your Stay
Can I bring my pet?
Pet policies vary by campground and accommodation. Ask about allowed pets, breed or size limits, fees, leash rules, and whether pets are permitted in cabins.
How do I find a stay that meets my accessibility needs?
Contact the campground before booking and describe what you need. Ask about accessible sites, cabins, restrooms, and paths so you can confirm what is actually available.
Is Wi-Fi available for remote work?
Some campgrounds offer Wi-Fi, but coverage and speed can vary across the property, and cell service may be limited. If you need a reliable connection, ask the campground about it before you book.
Are pools, recreation areas, and other amenities always open?
Not always. Hours and seasonal availability vary, and some amenities may close for weather or maintenance. Confirm with the campground for your dates.
Are campfires allowed?
Campfire rules depend on the campground, and local or state fire restrictions can change. Ask about fire rings, firewood policies, and any current burn bans.
Can friends or family visit us for the day?
Many campgrounds have visitor policies, and some charge day-guest fees or require visitors to check in. Ask about the property's rules before inviting guests.
Can I arrive late or stay for an extended visit?
Check-in times, late-arrival procedures, and extended-stay options vary by property. Tell the campground your plans in advance so they can confirm what is possible.
